Our Story
Early in 1991, a small group of families began Lighthouse Christian Center. Many of them had been Christians most of their lives and felt a strong calling to participate in planting a new church body.
This group held a vision for a church where people from all backgrounds could feel welcome, where those who had little or no church background could explore Christianity, and where Christians were challenged to grow. They wanted the services to reflect strong exegetical preaching as well as vital worship, all in an informal context that would make it easy to participate.
Those beginning families had a strong purpose: to create a Christian community that really cared so that each believer could be active in producing more and better disciples. That was the vision this group held, and it continues to be the guiding purpose for all believers who attend Lighthouse today.
