Pastoral Counseling
As the pastoral staff of Lighthouse, we understand that counseling is part of our call to "shepherd the flock of God among you" (1 Peter 5:2). We are ready to give counsel to those looking for biblically-based, Christ-focused direction.
Pastoral Counseling differs from discipleship in that it is usually issue and solution-focused, of limited duration (6-8 weeks), and seeks to help the counselee discover and make use of their strengths and resources to make the positive changes in their life.
Though we are not licensed counselors or therapists, we do maintain a referral relationship with several professional Christian counselors in our area. If, after meeting with one of our pastors, it is determined that such a referral would be beneficial to the counselee, we will work with you to find the right fit for ongoing counseling. Financial assistance may be requested on a provisional basis if your insurance does not cover your counseling.
If you would like to set up an appointment for pastoral counseling, please submit a completed Counseling Request Intake Questionnaire.
