First Steps
First Steps is a group that helps explain how Celebrate Recovery groups work, information on resources, and what to expect at Open Share groups. The First Steps group is for first time attenders only. Please attend the Large Group setting. Then the First Steps group will start in the same room immediately following the Large Group.
Open Share
Open Share groups are offered each week following the Large Group meeting. Please attend the First Steps group before attending Open Share groups. Open Share groups allow you to share your hurts, habits and hang-ups without having anyone trying to fix you. Everything shared in the group stays in the group. Check group guidelines for more information.

Step Studies
What is a Step Study? A Step Study is a personal journey through each of the 12 Steps of Celebrate Recovery in a confidential group led by a facilitator who has completed a study. The group is open for newcomers to join until the group reaches the fourth step, when the group is closed for the duration of the steps.
When you finish the study, you will have worked your hurts, habits, and hang-ups through each of the 12 steps. A Step Study is a long-term commitment to the members of the group. Step Study meetings are gender-specific and meet on different days than the Thursday Evening Celebrate Recovery meetings.
We use the two Celebrate Recovery Step Studies:
•The Journey Begins (for those new to recovery)
•The Journey Continues (for those who have completed the first study and want to move deeper with the steps).

Group Guidelines
Maintaining a high level of safety and integrity is essential to Celebrate Recovery groups. Below are some general guidelines and rules regarding group settings.
1. Always keep your sharing focused on your own thoughts and feelings. Use “I” and “me” statements. Please limit your sharing to three to five minutes.
2. Please no cross talk. Cross talk is when two individuals engage in a dialogue, excluding all others. Each person is free to express feelings without interruption.
3. We are here to support one another. We will not attempt to “fix” another.
4. Anonymity and confidentiality are basic requirements. What is shared in the group stays in the group! The only exception is when someone threatens to harm themselves or others.
5. Offensive language has no place in a Christ-centered recovery group.
Celebrate Recovery Small Groups CAN:
• Provide you a safe place to share your experiences, strengths, and hopes with others that are also going through a Christ-centered recovery.
• Provide you with a leader who has gone through a similar hurt, habit or hang-up and who will facilitate the group as it focuses on a particular Step each week. The leader will also follow Celebrate Recovery’s group guidelines.
• Provide you with the opportunity to find an Accountability Partner or a Sponsor.
• Encourage you to attend other recovery meetings held throughout the week.
Celebrate Recovery Small Groups WILL NOT:
• Attempt to offer any professional advice. Our leaders are not counselors. At your request, we can provide you with a list of approved counseling referrals.
• Allow its members to attempt to “fix” one another.
